Being eminently practical, Francesco, knowing he was going to die soon, decided he had no use learning skills for a life he would never have, so he would go down to the church and sit in front of the Blessed Sacrament and console the Heart of Jesus. During that six hours or so, I'm sure he probably said at least ten rosaries. When a person is truly holy, he says the rosary much faster, and might say a whole rosary in as little as half an hour. (Obviously, he is not rushing through the rosary, quite the contrary.)
Some say that Padre Pio used to say as many as 40 rosaries a day while in the confessional. This on top of the Divine Office, hearing confessions, and saying Mass- which often took over an hour, I am told.
