You are indeed correct. But remember that that sword cuts both ways. Many people interpret those words to mean events are a long way off, and meanwhile we can expect "business as usual" for at least several more centuries.
Elsewhere in Scripture, Our Lord says: "See the fig tree, and all the trees When they now shoot forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh..." [St Luke Chapter 21, Verses 29 and 30] "And from the fig tree learn a parable: When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves come forth, you know that summer is nigh..." [St Matthew Chapter 24, Verse 32]
"Now of the fig tree learn ye a parable. When the branch thereof is now tender, and the leaves are come forth, you know that summer is very near." [St Mark Chapter 13, verse 28]
In all three of these Gospels, these verses follow immediately after the dramatic account where Our Lord conflates the imminent destruction of Jerusalem, because of the infidelity of especially the Jewish Priests, with the End of the World.
St John did not write the Apocalypse so that theologians could have obtuse discussions and to fill library shelves with books, but rather as a testimony to the progress of the Mystery of Iniquity. And when we have alleged Cardinals like Blaise Cupich telling his flock they should not genuflect to Our Lord Jesus Christ and "doctors" and "psychologists" encouraging boys to "transition" into girls it should fill us with dread that God just might be fed up with Modern Man to the extant He is going to pull the proverbial plug, as He did in the days of Noah.
BTW, I love what the late Protestant teacher, Dr. Michael Heiser said about the Apocalypse (I’m paraphrasing): We’ll never unlock the mysteries of Revelation because we don’t have the depth of understanding that [St.] John had. Every word, phrase, and sentence contains an allusion to something written in the Old Testament.
I’d add that he was an apostle who heard every word of Jesus, he cared for the Blessed Virgin until she was taken, and he lived a long, long life. Tradition says he was exiled because he miraculously survived execution.
I honor the Pope, whomever he is. And pray for his immortal soul.
I think that at best, Papa Francisco is a mediocre pastor, and at worst, he’s a harmful pastor, but he doesn’t have the authority to change Church doctrine unless he speaks ex cathedra, which he is unlikely to do. And he is EOL.
The greatest danger has been the succession of Popes who participated in V2, including JP2. Winsome or not, they have bent Church practice in unholy directions. Ecumenism is only acceptable when it runs one way—towards the one holy catholic and apostolic Church. (Drop your guitar, step away from the altar, and no one gets hurt.) Our only genuine (and estranged) soulmates are the Orthodox, and I pray that they will return to Rome, extending the Church’s apostolic authority.
End times? As a recovering Protestant, I’ve been down this road my whole life. Just as correlation is not causation, bad things may not be the end. The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD was a very bad things for both Jews and Christians but it wasn’t the end. The only thing that has measurably changed in 2,000 years is technology. It took a lot of man hours to line a Roman road with crucified rebels. Now we have chemical and kinetic weapons that can kill 1/8 of humanity very quickly—or leisurely.
My responsibility is to practice evangelism while I pursue holiness through the sacraments of reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist, and prayer both directly to God and through the Holy Saints, including Nuestra Señora.
If on Pope Frantic was a mediocre pastor! The man is an abomination, who obviously adheres to ideas condemned even by St Paul.
Nobody can pray directly to God. Indeed, we cannot even go directly to Our Lord Jesus Christ. We receive everything through Our Lady, who is our co-redemtrix and mediatrix of all grace.
The Vatican II Church is Protestant, thinking Our Lady is optional.
I think a big weapon is still latent in the vaccine (some kind of mind control/kill switch). I also think sleeper cells among the illegal migrants in Europe and America will be unleashed at the opportune time. Of course, WW3 (American and Israel vs. the world) is approaching its kinetic stage. I expect Europe will be quickly steamrolled by Russia, like in Alois Irlmaier’s prophecies.
Apocalypse fever! Catch it!!
“But of that day and hour no one knoweth, not the angels of heaven, but the Father alone.”

The Mystery of Iniquity will be understood in its time, by those the Holy Ghost enlightens.
That sounds rather Protestant. Won’t it be shared in homilies by duly ordained priests?
I’m just a simple RC.

Your post has me suspicious of my phone!

That is a very likely scenario.
