Words Mean Things...
"Let others fight about the Filioque and what’s included in the Apocrypha..."
Here the "Filioque" is mentioned in passing, as though the Procession of the Holy Ghost from the Father and the Son- the true doctrine- was some sort of tertiary idea not important to the integral faith, when nothing can be further from the Truth. Many of the Orthodox hold that the Holy Ghost proceeds from the Father alone, and Pius XI, in allowing the Orthodox to celebrate Mass in the Lateran while omitting the Filioque from their Credo, vastly aided that perception. He is as guilty as JP2 when the latter allowed the "Parade of Religions" in Assisi in 1988, protesting that "we have not come to pray together" but rather that "we have come together to pray". (And what exactly is the distinction?) The Orthodox, like the Muslims, turn the Living God into a monstrosity. Allow me to explain...
St John said that God is Charity. Perfect "Caritas" has two elements: adhesion to the Truth- brought about by Faith- and a willingness to adhere to that Truth at the expense of everything else, even life itself. And the Most Holy and Apostolic Faith has two fundamental Truths, the doctrines of the Incarnation and the Trinity, both of which came under great attack especially in the period between the ascension of Constantine and the Great Schism of 1054. (The Battle of Milvian Bridge, like Thermopolis, sealed the fate of billions in a certain sense...)
The Doctrine of the Trinity is Fundamentally this: From all Eternity one can think of the Father as looking in an "uncreated mirror" and perceiving Himself, and falling in love with Himself, and this Act is the Son. Of course, this idea fails insofar as God becomes a Cosmic Narcissist, and God is the exact opposite of the Narcissist. Another way to contemplate the Trinity is that the Love of God flows so irrepressibly outward into Nothingness that the Nothingness is filled with God, and becomes God. Of course, this can easily be confused with Pantheism. So this idea fails too. But the point is that the Son proceeds from the Father: "God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God." When St John begins his Gospel: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God," he is speaking of Eternity. The same Eternity we express everytime we conclude a Decade of the Most Holy Rosary with the theophany/doxology "Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost as it WAS in the Beginning, is NOW, and Every SHALL BE..." The Procession of the Son from the Father IS NOT something that happened in the distant past and is complete, nor is it something that will be completed in the future- which was the thinking of Teilhard de Chardin and, in pathetic and crude materialistic/pantheistic terms, the progressives/communists and their "Utopia/Workers' Paradise". No, that Procession is an Eternal, Dynamic Reality, the Beatific Vision.
(By the same token, our Salvation is an eternal, dynamic thing. When Our Lord Jesus Christ, right before His Death on the Wood of the Holy Cross, said "IT is finished" he was talking in terms of His Human Nature and Human Will -which is why the monothelite heresy was ultimately a big deal, but that is another discussion- and not the Divine Nature and Divine Will, which is the Will of God Himself and is Eternal, because then He Expired. But moreover, when He said "It is Finished" he was also talking as God, insofar as He had completed the construction of a Great Edifice, which would now exist for all eternity. And that Great Edifice is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, for Our Lord Jesus Christ is Eternal High Priest. Every time we are at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, we are present at the Foot of the Cross. The True Mass is like a "Time Warp" so to speak, and all the suspensions of causality which are so often the subject of Star Trek are operative at the True Mass. For every sin has an Eternal dimension, which can only be forgiven by an Eternal Sacrifice. More on this momentarily...)
The Holy Ghost, in turn, proceeds from the Father and the Son, and is an Expression of their mutual Love One for Another. The Son, like the Father, is God, and His Charity operates the same way. It pierces Nothingness, beholds the Father, nay, has, in a certain sense- how easily it is to err when discussing this August Mystery!- "Becomes the Father" having all His qualities except His Person. and so, must ACT in an identical manner. And so, the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity, the Holy Ghost, is generated. One might object, however, that the Holy Ghost, to be God, must in turn also ACT and produce His own "God", a fourth person... But what they forget is that the Holy Ghost is also the Act of God the Father. At any rate, I fear that any further attempt to penetrate the Mystery of the Trinity is futile, insofar as it will merely distort things as we grapple with One being Three and Three Being One, something we can grasp no more than the concept of Nine Divided by Zero...
But do allow me to share my own personal speculation- that the "First Thought" of the Holy Trinity at the "Beginning of Time" was Our Lady, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who alone has a unique relationship with the Blessed Trinity, being the Daughter of the Father, the Mother of the Son (Truly Mother of God- Theotokos!) and the Spouse of the Holy Ghost. Dare I say that God created the Heavens and the Earth so that He might become a Little Child on the Lap of This Creature, and that all else is "mere ornamentation" if one wills. And this was the plan of the Incarnation. And Satan, from the first, opposed this Divine Plan. But Satan uttered his protest from all Eternity, and so his "Non Serviat!" echoes from all eternity, being loosed upon creation, so to speak, by the Original Sin, which is why we are all infected with it. And so when St John says "There was a Great Battle in Heaven" we should not regard it as something that was concluded in time, but continues even until the Last Day and Great Day of Almighty God. (That is the Ultimate Sense in which the Apocalypse was written, which is why it is legitimate to interpret it allegorically, although that is not the ONLY interpretation...)
Meanwhile, the main point here is that the Orthodox, like the Muslims with their Monolithic Deity, monstrously disfigure God. And so Vatican II was dead wrong. The Muslims and Orthodox do not worship the same God that I do. They do not worship God in Spirit and in Truth, and so might as well be worshipping Moloch with the Satanic Pederasts. (Of course, some of them are naive, and God will of course take this into account. Indomitable Ignorance IS an excuse before the True Supreme Court.)
For all their Human Foibles, the Successors of St Peter alone have defended and held the True Doctrine, at least until relatively recent times- which is a very, very, very big deal. And so enter Our Lady of Fatima- who plays the long game. She did not "give the whole game away" from the start, but rather perfectly knew how the Satanic Pederasts would try and suppress her message, and so give the whole game away while they introduced the Abomination of Desolation into the Holy Sanctuary.
And now for some words on the "New Mass", which seeks to nullify the Eternal Sacrifice. The "New Mass" is a happy meal. This can be seen most clearly by comparing the Words of Consecration of the Chalice between the New Mass and the True Mass. TRUE MASS: "FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, OF THE NEW AND EVERLASTING TESTAMENT, THE MYSTERY OF FAITH, WHICH FOR YOU AND FOR MANY SHALL BE SHED UNTO THE REMISSION OF SINS." New Mass: "TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT, FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT, WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME." (Note, this is the "New Mass" said in Latin, with bells and incense, facing the Tabernacle, and otherwise dressed in reverential trappings- this is as "good" as the "New Mass" gets.) One can clearly see that the Mass has been "transformed" into a narration. (Even Mediator Dei was aghast at this idea.)
The "New Mass" was not the work of Anibale Bugnini and his liturgy committee after Vatican II. The "New Mass" had been anticipated by Analbale Bugnini and his liturgy committee during the pontificate of Pius XII before Vatican II. The "New Mass" was being "tested" by Odo Casel and his "Benedictines" during the Pontificate of Pius XI in greater Germany in the 1920's and 1930's. The "New Mass" probably originated in the Freemasonic Lodges of the 1850's. ("Canon" Roca broadly hints at this.) The New Mass is no Mass at all.
Meanwhile, it is a REALLY BIG DEAL when "Churchmen" have the temerity to mutilate those things pertaining to Eternity.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
