This Wolf does take the time to open his "junk mail". Some years ago, he opened an Account on Gab, and used to post there. (He has not done so for years. He quickly discovered that Gab is just another Social Media Dumpster Fire.) But this piece of Junk Mail was very interesting, and he is going to quote extensively and pepper with comments.
"Authenticity in today’s world has become a rare commodity," the letter begins. Can you say "Operation Mockingbird"? Mission accomplished.
"The advent of A[rtificial] I[ntelligence] and its ability to replicate human behavior in text-based conversations, posts, and comments has led to an influx of inauthentic content and interactions. The line between AI and human engagement has blurred, leaving users struggling to distinguish between genuine human interaction and AI-generated content.
"Social media as we have always known it is dead. Platforms like [Twitter] have been plagued by AI bots for years, flooding feeds with images of celebrities and other content that is not only inauthentic but also misleading. A quick scroll through your Facebook feed will yield dozens of AI generated posts that are loaded with comments of people who are seemingly unaware that they are viewing an AI image. Instagram is no different."
Social Media has always been a Dumpster Fire. The reason this Wolf has spurned Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Tic Toc is because he does not need to be bombarded by requests to "friend" users posting about the latest dog dump, how they cooked their green beans, who was at the slumber party, or thrilled because they actually took a crap today. (The local farmer's market sells T-shirts to that effect.) Nor does he need his posts dumped on by Pink-Haired Karens on a ballistic trajectory because he does not think Joe Biden or Brittany Spears is the greatest thing since the Fall of Rome.
"This phenomenon poses a real threat to the social media landscape, forcing users to question the legitimacy of the connections they form online. As AI continues to advance and infiltrate social media platforms, there is a growing need for authentic communities of real people."
Fortunately there is not too much of this on Substack, which seems to be the last refuge of the Classic Internet.
"The best solution to this problem is the implementation of a paywall on social media platforms. While it is not a foolproof method, it can be an effective way to ensure that users interacting on a platform are, in fact, real people. It significantly raises the cost of bot operators conducting spam and psychological operations with AI, which will greatly reduce their attack surface and effectiveness."
Gab CEO Andrew Torba appears unaware that the Internet Shills, Bots, and Trolls are underwritten by the Federal Intelligence Agencies who have access to the "Printing Presses" of the Federal "Reserve". Money is no object to them, and the process will be slowed by mere picoseconds, if at all.
In an earlier letter, Andrew Torba had expressed alarm that the bots, shills, and trolls were uploading media files into robotic Gab accounts at such a rate that the memory capacity of the entire site was being threatened. He was asked why the engineers could not simply delete content older than a certain date, or similar measures. Torba replied that his platform was a priceless repository of Truth, and that summarily deleting content would threaten that status.
This Wolf agrees. But meanwhile, the bots, shills, and trolls, made more sophisticated with the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, are eventually going to swamp any system the Arbiters of Truth deep in the bowels of the Department of Homeland Security (also known as The Ministry of Truth) target. Meanwhile, if one is going to pay for a platform, how will that be possible in terms of cold hard cash? The person will have to be "banked", with all that implies, or at least have a bitcoin account, with all that implies. Ultimately, he will have to have his New World Order Identity within the Rusty Innards of the Cloud to post anything on the Internet.
What SOPA and like minded legislation could not accomplish, the bots, trolls, and shills will. Those of us who want to stay aloof from the banking, education, insurance, and taxation rackets will be banned from posting, and perhaps even looking, at content on the internet.
The goal has always been the elimination of us vile Subsistence Farmers. And just exactly how many sheeple the Cabal wants on its sex farms, er, "Compact Cities" eating bugs and owning nothing is anybody's guess, but most estimates are around half a billion. They are closing quickly on their goals. And soon, nobody in Cyberspace will be hearing those of us onto the Truth scream.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
before the internet was the internet, in the 1980s, people would call in on 300 bps modems which were shaped to hold standard bell system telephones. Before they could do this, They'd have to talk to my father on the phone. Do you think that a.i. is at a point yet where they would fool someone who's paying attention? If that person is one who believes everything he sees on tv then probably he could be fooled. But if he's not this sort of idiot I think it would be a lot harder. I think it makes more sense to actually get people involved to this level. We could even create wifi network connecting many of us to one internet connection quickly saving enough money to pay for the wifi equipment and also providing an unwatched communication network. Seems they're already working against this by making cpu's capable of preventing such good efforts from being able to work. As Linus made an operating system, maybe someone could make cpu for the community minded of the world.
