The Two Hundred Years since the Council of Trent- whose decrees were never implemented- had softened both Church and State to the point where the Jewish Pederasts could begin the next phase of their design. Already, in 1717, the Grand Lodge of London had been established- the coming out party of the Satanic Pederasts, with its mission to "Strangle the Last King with the guts of the Last Priest". In France, Rosicrucianism was the prelude of things to come, a sordid occult organization which was a revival of the "Mysticism" of the perverted Templars that spread across Europe and into Russia. Against this background the Grand Lodges of Europe would form, with their missions to pervert populations with Satanic practices. In 1776, Adam Weishaupt would found the Illuminati, a Supercharged Occult Organization that would infiltrate the already existing Freemasonic Lodges and take them to the next level- or newer depths, if one wills- of depravity in preparation for unleashing all the Forces of Hell.
To get some idea of the degree of corruption of both Church and State, one need look no further than the decrees of the So-Called "Synod of Pistoia" held in the nether regions of the borderlands between France and the Kingdom of Saxony. Convoked by Bishop Scipione de' Ricci with the connivance of the Habsburg-Lorraine Grand Duke Leopold, the synod was a collision between the doctrines of Traditional Catholicism and Vatican II. On the one hand it declared that the "Catholic Church had no right to introduce new dogmas, but only to preserve in its original purity the faith once delivered by Christ to His apostles, and was infallible only so far as it conforms to Holy Scripture and true tradition." Sounds great, but then it went on to advocate for "the right of civil authority to create matrimonial impediments; the reduction of all religious orders to one body with a common habit and no perpetual vows; a vernacular liturgy with but one altar in a church." It was decidedly against such Medieval vaguries as Indulgences, Purgatory, Blessings, Veneration of Relics... - all the usual Protestant suspects. The decrees were issued in 1786, just three years before the Tennis Court Oath in Versailles would dethrone "The Most Catholic King" Louis XVI. Pius VI, who had advocated for Diocesan Synods as "the most acceptable method to enact reforms", and whose patronage had been invoked, was nevertheless forced to condemn the decrees, which he would do in the Papal Bull Auctorem fidei of August 28, 1794. Nothwithstanding this, the Decrees of Pistoia are definitely a Spoiler Alert for Coming Attractions under Good Pope John, but we have a lot of ground to cover before discussing Vatican II.
Meanwhile, Heaven was by no means ignorant of all this perversity. On December 27th, 1673, Our Lord Jesus Christ would mystically appear to "a Humble Nun of the Order of the Visitation of Our Lady" and complain "Behold the Heart which has loved men so much, and is so little loved in return." In the following apparitions He would inflict St Margaret Mary Alocoque with a Small Token of the Immense Suffering of His Passion, promising her nothing but misery and hardship in the days to come- "Bloodletting", he said, "would provide some small relief". He Offered to Church and World the Nine First Fridays of the Sacred Heart, and reparations to save souls. The culminating apparition, on June 17th, 1689, asked the King of France to place on his banner an image of the Sacred Heart so that "he might have all his designs realized, and be victorious in battle".
Louis XIV was not interested, and neither were the popes. While The first liturgical feast of the Sacred Heart was celebrated, with episcopal approval, on the 31st of August 1670, in the major seminary of Rennes, France, through the efforts of John Eudes, who had also composed a Mass and Office, it was only in 1726 that Rome was petitioned to authorize a date and Mass for this feast. In 1729, the Vatican issued a refusal. Only in 1765 was a Mass finally approved. And, despite the requests of Our Lord to St Margaret Mary Alocoque that a Feast to the Sacred Heart be extended to the Universal Church, it was not until well over a century later that the Satanic Pederats finally relented, and in 1859 Pius IX finally approved the feast, already widely celebrated in Portugal and Poland, for the Universal Church.
Meanwhile, St Louis Mary de Montfort, the seminal Apostle of Our Lady and founder of the Company of Mary, would find himself and his disciples spurned by every Bishop in France, despite being designated an Apostolic missionary by Pope Clement IX. In spite of all, he inspired Marie Louise Trichet to found the "Daughters of Wisdom" while chaplain to a hospital in Nantes, France. Undaunted, the Humble Saint developed His "Total Consecration to Mary", which would be the foundation for Devotion to the Immaculate Heart. He predicted his works would be buried for a hundred years, but be discovered and spread when the time was ripe.
In the wider world, the progression was from bad to worse. Finally, after a hundred and fifty years of perversity and sin, the Divine Chastisement fell heavily on France, beginning in 1789. Just some years before, on the North American Continent, the Great Bulwark of Freemasonry, and the Hammer Against Mexico, the United States of America, had been founded. And, despite shaking its fist at "Popery and Monkish Superstitions", Pius VI and subsequent popes would have nothing but kind words for government "of the people, by the people, and with the people".
The 19th Century would be witness to a tortured saga of revolution, counter-revolution, ever-declining morals, and the advance of "Republicanism" at the expense of venerable institutions. To the strains of the revolutionary music of Beethovan, Brahms, Tchaicovsky, Smetana and Mahler, the banners of the Revolution would march from Paris to Moscow, and from Warsaw to Rome. Christendom would first disintegrate into a slew of contending duchies and provincial feuds, and then be reforged under the hammer blows of Bismarck, Metternich, and Mazzini. First at the Congress of Vienna, and later by the Franco-Prussian War, and in between by the Revolutions of 1848, Europe overturned ancient monarchies and established Constitutions in their place. But restlessness ever grew as the Masonic Ritual of Political parties was introduced across Europe, while Altar and Throne withered from neglect and abuse.
The Popes allegedly wept while Europe bled. But no condemnations or interdicts ever thundered forth. One would have thought Pius VI would have proclaimed a crusade against the French Revolutionaries who deposed Louis XVI, but no such act was forthcoming. His successor, Pius VII, would be captured by Napoleon and apparently browbeaten into signing a Concordat which restored tenuous relations between Church and State, virtually absolving the Revolutionaries for theft of church property and murder of numerous priests and bishops. In 1814 Louis XVIII was crowned King of France, but his "monarchy" was but a shadow of the past. The revolution had been established, and, without a vast reform of morals, no return to Tradition was possible. And so Louis dallied while France continued to burn. A decade later he would be overthrown, and France would witness the new horrors of the Paris Commune and continued wars. Back at Rome, Pope Gregory XVI famously said of railroads: "Chemin De Fer, Chemins D' Infer..." (Road of Iron, Road to Hell) He also refused to adopt gas lights. His successor, Pius IX, would approve both.
But in 1870 the First Vatican Council was interrupted by the Franco-Prussian War, which also forced the French Troops that had protected the city and banished the riotous revolutionaries of 1848 to be recalled to resist the invading Germans. As the bishops fled, the revolutionaries entered. The Seer of La Salette, Maximian Girard, was killed along with the other Gendarmes defending the Vatican and henceforth the Pope would be reduced to "A Prisoner in the Vatican".
The Vatican Obelisk, which had been moved to Rome from its original location in the city of Heliopolis on the Nile at the request of the Emperor Caligula in 40 AD, and moved by Pope Sixtus V to its current prominent location on September 10th, 1586, was now once again in the Obvious Possession of the Kingdom of Hell. Meanwhile, in 1860, on the North American Continent, in the Southern United States, the Satanic Concept of "Total War" was unleashed. When the smoke cleared and the dust settled, a Million lives had been snuffed in a Satanic Holocaust on which the Demons might feast, a prelude for the horrors of the 20th Century.
The Final Countdown to Armageddon was about to commence.
