The Bishop Strickland Show

Another Conciliar Church Clown Comedy

Let us begin with a quote from what is most aptly named "The Bishop Strickland Show":

"Fr James Altman is in trouble for speaking the truth. I originally supported him when he spoke bold truth during the election. I continue to support him for speaking the truth in Jesus Christ. He inspires many to keep the faith during these dark days. Let us pray for him."

(Many will recall that Fr James Altman became a hero to many when he courageously lambasted the Plandemic of 2020, calling out the restrictions, "Social Distancing" and Mask Mandates early on in his sermons, and labeling them utter nonsense. Predictably, he was "fired" by his bishop, William Patrick Callahan of Lacrosse Wisconsin shortly after Bishop Strickland made that comment...)

Bishop Strickland would go on to be the hero of the "Conservative Catholic" movement, always siding with the Conservative Amen Corner on all the "Hot button" issues, namely concerning sodomy and abortion.

However, Bishop Strickland was obviously no serious reformer.  While he decided to say a "Latin Mass" now and then, for the most part, the Vatican II Liturgical Revolution was at home in his diocese, although minus the more outrageous aspects of the "reform" such as Clown Masses and Liturgical Dance.

Even an outright ban on "Communion in the Hand" would have been a welcome sign. But of course the Conservative Apologists are always quick to point out that if a bishop goes "too far too fast" he will incur the wrath of first the "Bishops Conference" (a farcical entity run by an embedded bureaucracy, a small seat of the Antichrist) and, ultimately, the Vatican.

Meanwhile, Bishop Strickland, the Best Looking Horse in the Conciliar Church Glue Factory, quickly became the darling of the "Tradservative" Catholic Movement.

This Wolf quickly suspected that Bishop Strickland, however, was just a Front Man and a Pretender, controlled opposition playing his part as a honeypot to keep those annoyed at the ongoing antics of Pope Frantic and his cast of Clerical Clowns running roughshod over all that is holy- to put it mildly- on the "reservation", and hoping against hope that somewhere in the Mess of Corruption was an Angel of Light who would defend the Truth.

[People do tend to forget that Satan is not too particular how he ensnares souls.  If he cannot get one with the garden variety formula of sex, drugs, and Rock'N'Roll, he has a whole arsenal of more subtle ploys to lead the unwary into impurity and final impenitence, all under cover of abiding in the Bosom of Christ.  Certainly, the devil can take his "New Mass" and dress it up with piety, bells, and incense just as he does High Church Anglicanism.  But all error leads to the same pit of Hell...]

The Bishop Strickland Show just quietly purred for a few years until his eminence decided to put in an appearance at a historic protest against the Los Angeles Dodgers conflating baseball and "The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence", an utterly blasphemous sodomite group dating back to the 1970's.  Apparently, that was over the top so far as the Apparatchiks were concerned, and Bishop Strickland received an "Apostolic Visitation" shortly thereafter, stoking rumors that Pope Frantic was going to dispose of him.

For his part, Bishop Strickland fueled the rumors by suggesting that he would oppose any attempt to ask him to resign, and would rather force authorities to terminate him, which they obligingly did this Armistice Day 2023, when the Apostolic Head of Texas, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, stated that, because Bishop Strickland refused a request to resign, he was being "terminated".

Predictably, this provoked a firestorm from the Tradservative Amen Corner, which has been aptly chronicled elsewhere.  But what this Wolf would like to do is get past all the wailings, lamentations, and breast thumping and investigate what may really be happening here.

First off, this obviously does no good for the image of the "Pontificate" of Pope Frantic, already newly tarnished by all the antics of the "Synod on Synodality" which had just concluded a summit this past October.  Now, one can say that since Pope Frantic has already been portrayed as the Big Bad Wolf (apologies to our furry friends everywhere, even over at Little Red Riding Hood) he might as well do this despicable deed on top of everything else while the proverbial fur is flying.

For his part, Bishop Strickland opined that it was his decision not to follow the Vatican directive to suppress The Traditional Latin Mass that got him "fired", rather than his support of stalwart priests or his protesting in Los Angeles.

This all fits well into what the "Pontificate" of Pope Frantic is apparently all about- crushing once and for all any resistance to the "reforms" of Vatican II.

Of course, Bishop Strickland was a good promoter of those reforms.  In fact, he was expert at coating them with a veneer of Tradition and trying to square Vatican II with the Council of Trent.  After all, one does not get to be a bishop by bucking the Party Line.  Even a whiff of a suggestion that one is not 110% enthusiastic about all the "reforms" of Vatican II- vernacular masses, participation and inclusion of the laity, the culture of accompaniment, not being "judgmental" concerning sinners, and etc- will get one booted from the seminary- even a conservative one- in quick order.

[Moreover, while Pope Frantic has put the kibosh on many of the "approved" Traditional groups, such as the Fraternity of St Peter and the Institute of Christ the King, he has been downright chummy with the "schismatic" Society of St Pius X, (essentially declared as such by the famous proclamation of JP2, "Ecclesia Dei"), going so far as "regularize" marriages in SSPX chapels, and "incardinating" SSPX priests such that they might "validly hear confessions".  It does make one wonder.  Even after the issuance of the draconian "Traditiones Custodes" not a peep was heard concerning any measures against the SSPX.  (Of course, one does assume that the SSPX would just shrug off any such legislation and return to the status quo pre- Summorum Pontificum.)]

My suggestion to Bishop Strickland and the Tradservatives?

In for a penny, in for a pound.

Now that His Eminence no longer needs to pussyfoot over thin ice, why not go all in?  This Wolf is certain Bishop Strickland can enlighten us on certain aspects of the McCarrick Affair.  Surely he has heard, if only in hushed gossip, about the "Child Trafficking Networks" sponsored by the Conciliar Church.  And certainly, of only occasionally, he has gotten a letter from a distraught mother begging him to do something about her child having been molested by a pastor of souls, or an employee of the diocese absolutely disgusted with the corruption within the ranks.  Now that he has nothing to lose, why not just bare all.

No, instead we hear Bishop Strickland bleating that we must "Stay within the Church", which this Wolf assumes is code for continuing to assent to the "pontificate" of Pope Frantic and otherwise continuing to add to the prevailing confusion.  Bishop Strickland might even add a comment about the ongoing slaughter of innocents in the Gaza Strip, which by now must be a Holocaust of epic proportions.  And so he continues his vigil outside the unholy gathering of bishops in Baltimore for the annual meetings- er, orgies-  of the "bishops' conference".  Well, at least he is saying The Most Holy Rosary.  That is a start.
