"Human Stupidity may have limits, but we have not found them yet."- Devil Screwtape's Mentor. This Wolf has not found them either. That is apparent with the Current Political Campaign. After the Debacle of 2020, one would think that most people would have awakened to the fact that the American Political Process is nothing but theatre for Ugly People. The election of 2020 was obviously stolen, with electoral moderators reporting chicanery from coast to coast. Nobody was prosecuted, let alone went to jail. And those always roaring about our Sacrosanct Democracy just stood there like a Deer in the Headlights. The Supreme Court was not worth its weight in Dogshit, and the proverbial Watchdogs were all sniffing elsewhere. Donald Q Chump led his hapless supporters into a trap on January 6th 2021, and then walked away while Nancy Pelosi and Chuckie Schumer started a Witchunt that would have made Salem blush. And so far for this Summer of 2024, we have been treated to Assassination Theatre and Debate Theatre, all so obviously rigged that a smart third grader would see right through everything. The only question this Wolf has is whether they will pull Pizzagate 2.0 and doom the Cackling Camel, or actually let her win the S(election) and watch the Trump Train burn everything to the ground.
Forget the Illegal Immigrants. Although in some places they are commandeering what is left of the Rustbelt and Urban Townhouses, they are but a symptom of the real disease, which is Socialism. When this Wolf was in Kansas City in the '90's, he saw Crackhouse after Crackhouse that was financed by HUD and Section Eight. Between them, they took Slumlording to a whole new level, while the Local Politicians merrily counted the Subsidies from Washington, and left their Militarized Police for cleanup when things really got messy. (In Kansas City they had helicopters. It was not unusual to see a chopper flying low in pursuit of a shoplifter on foot or somebody fleeing a "Terry Stop".) Troost Avenue was somewhere between Beirut, Manhattan, and Las Vegas. Hookers stood outside shot-up display windows. And that is when it first occurred to me that this festering slum was spreading malignancy across midtown and downtown and over hill and dale across suburban and rural areas.
The main Shock Troops of the upheaval were the Motion Picture and Music "Industries", which competed in spreading hedonism and hate. Does this Wolf have to chronicle the lurid, often morbid, history of "music" from the Beatles to Lead Zeppelin to Van Halen to Snoop Dogg? And does this Wolf have to recount the psychotic trail of the movies from "Ghostbusters" to "Beatlejuice" to "Zombie Apocalypse"? The Movies all had a Grand Convergence, from Star Trek looking like Aliens and Good Morning Vietnam to Mission Impossible looking like Batman. While a few good flicks dot the landscape, for the most part film has become an orgy of gun violence, fireballs, carwrecks, bedscenes, fistfights, and hack-and-slash bloodgushing duels.
Meanwhile, the churches, for the most part, were complicit. In the old days the Good Padres comforted the afflicted and afflicted the comfortable. Now it seem to all about ginning up the likes, shares, and subscribes on Social Media, and having the widest reach on the World Wide Web. And, of course, Social Media has been the absolute death of anything resembling chivalry.
This Wolf has absolutely no hope- humanly speaking- for this country in particular or humanity in general. So long as they can order happiness on Amazon, or drink it down under the Golden Arches, the citizenry seems to be content with owning nothing and being happy while all around them the urban planners burn it to the ground so they can Build Back Better. Forget about the calvary riding over the hill, Where are those who just merely have the courage to see and tell things the way they truly are, instead of hiding behind the Establishment.
Enjoy it while it lasts, Sheeple. A Hell worse than anything most of you can possibly imagine is hidden in those Dark Clouds looming on the Horizon.
Well said, Wolf.
Tut, tut, Wolf.
"Forget about the calvary riding over the hill".
I've always imagined Calvary on the hill.
