Our Lady, the Seat of Mercy
...Even for Pope Frantic.
Our Lady is NOT God. God is Infinite Justice and Infinity Mercy. He is both at one and the same time. Our Lady, on the other hand, is only mercy- Infinite Mercy. God is not a Sugar Daddy, but Our Lady is most assuredly a Sugar Mommy. She has not only our interests at heart, but also our desires. At Cana, she told Our Lord "They have no wine". That was not of any supernatural import. The bride, bridegroom, and the guests could all save their souls handily without wine. But even though Our Lord admonishes us to seek the things that are above, Our Lady reminds Him that we are frail creatures in need of things here below, both for our sustenance and our psychological well-being. God created Our Lady this way. He created her with not only a perfect disposition to the things that are above with no regard to things here below but also with a compassion on us miserable mortals so wont to pursue that which is not good for us. And it would seem to this Wolf that a key provision of Devotion to the Immaculate Heart is this imitation of the solicitude of Our Lady as regards our fellow man. "...Lead all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of Thy mercy."
Michael Matt seems to want to make an exception for Pope Frantic. It is almost as if he is praying that this man go to his eternal reward so we can get a pontiff who might begin to "fix things".
This Wolf, as he has said before, suspects something massive is afoot here. Michael Matt is beside himself that an African Bishop has publicly denounced the latest antic of Pope Frantic- the blessing of "Same Sex" couples- amid a chorus of similar discourses and the decisions of several "bishops' conferences" to tell Pope Frantic, in so many words, to go pound the proverbial sand.
Contra Michael Matt, this Wolf does not see the African Church as being some bastion of orthodoxy. (That grotesque photo of a bare-breasted female "lector" during a JP2 "pontifical mass" back in the '90's that was featured in the book "Peter, Lovest Thou Me" comes to mind.) The "African Church" might not have a pederast problem, but they most definitely have a "mistress" problem among the priests. The African Church has also been the seat of some of the most "inculturated" liturgies imaginable. "Kumbaya" anyone? Such is the current state of affairs that we are overjoyed when a bishop says something indisputably orthodox.
Memo to the Remnant Amen Corner: This did not start with Pope Frantic, and it is not going to end with Pope Frantic. Whether Pope Frantic is the False Prophet of the Apocalypse remains to be seen. Whether his successor is the False Prophet is also conjecture at this point. But one thing we can take to the bank is that this "crisis" is not going to end with the election of a new pontiff. Expecting that a "new pope" is going to fix things is as naive as thinking that the Federal Reserve is going to fix inflation by monetizing more debt.
One thing is certain: the flood of sin currently being experienced by the world has put us on the short road to the fulfillment of the most dire prophecy of Our Lady of Fatima: "Various nations will be annihilated."
So, Michael Matt, just why exactly would you not think that the United States of America, founded by Freemasons for the purpose of dismembering what remained of Christendom in the late 18th century, with a whole history of wars and bloodshed both internal and external, and of exporting secular humanism to the four corners of the earth, is not at the top of that list?
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope!
