March 17th, 2024 is Passion Sunday. That should be foremost on the Catholic Mind. Today Holy Mother Church intensifies the Lenten Themes in preparation for Holy Week. But today is also St Patrick's Day, and so Catholics will join people who do not know a chasable from a ciborium, to partake of Green Beer and all the rest of the Hallowed Blarney. They will have a Parade in New York City that will likely feature some members from Rainbow Brite, while the benign God of the Bogus Ordo looks on from a place where Unicorns dance on Rainbows.
Many "Catholics" are saying "mea culpa" because they have not even been faithful to the token practices they resolved for Ash Wednesday. They just could not walk away from mocha lattes or mint milkshakes. (Even McCulture knows Blarney.) And they just could not find fifteen minutes in the day to stuff in five mysteries of the rosary, the bare minimum Our Lady of Fatima requested. Oh, I know, there is baseball practice (they now have games on Sunday morning) and all those movies and tweets and likes and posts and subscribes. On top of that, all the laundry because we have to change clothes every time we break a sweat, especially because our bodies are trying to excrete all those toxins we are constantly shoving into it. And finally all those political rallies and news shows are demanding our attention.
You do realize, of course, that you have been brainwashed and conditioned to accept life in the New Sodom as normal and perhaps even saintly. The only sins left are molesting children and premeditated murder. But just give it time. Last year the Pope was processing around with ugly wooden idols. Next year it will be ashes from the sacrificed goat. And the year after that the infant that was immolated. Because, after all, one who rejects the Eternal Sacrifice of Calvary will end embracing more old-fashioned kinds.
The road to Heaven is a lonely one paved with thorns. The road to Hell is wide and full of the pleasures this life can bring- although, in the end, they bring nothing but emptiness and sorrow to the soul. But for many, the end comes too quickly and too late. Many people, thanks to the quaccines, go to bed at night and wake up in Hell.
Meanwhile, what are the "Catholic Pastors" talking about? Not about Our Lady of Fatima. I can listen to them for an hour and they mention her not once. Knowing the Human Heart is not rocket science. When a young man is madly in love, see if he can go for an hour without mentioning his fiancee. Our talk betrays us constantly. And the fact that we never or seldom talk about something betrays our lack of love and devotion.
Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us. You are our only hope.
