Yesterday, this Wolf was invited to post on the forum of Tradrecovery.com.
But that was yesterday. Today, he received the following email from Laura Vander Vos, the Fearless Leader of the organization.
"After a day of giving you access to the forum, I'm afraid we're going to have to say goodbye at this time. Your posts and comments are confusing to other site members because they do not reflect adherence to the ongoing Magisterium of the Church, which is what we promote at all times, and we simply can't let your comments stand without some kind of correction or reiteration that we in this community are here because we are seeking to live as fully faithful Catholics in the Church under Pope Francis and his successors, accepting that the Church is and always has been guided by the Holy Spirit, is a visible (or who else could we take matters to be settled to as we are instructed in Matthew 18?) and juridical structure and hierarchy in which the true Faith must always be preserved, despite the wiles of the enemy. Although you express yourself in a friendly manner, which I appreciate very much, and you are a genuine praying man who wants to do the right thing, the other people on this site are here because they have recognized the tendency in Traditionalism to subjectivize, relativize and Protestantize their Catholic faith and lead them away from full union with the body of the Church, in addition to which many of them are recovering from various kinds of trauma experienced in Trad environments. If this were more of a broad discussion forum where all kinds of people were treating all kinds of subjects for the sake of discussion or research, then you would be right at home and could post away. I'm sorry that this isn't the right fit for a social outlet for you, and I know you think the mainstream Church is whacked, but I hope you can respect that we have a very specific community we are trying to provide for and bow out gracefully. Thank you for your example of prayer and devotion; you'll be in our prayers and we'd be grateful for yours! God bless you and Our Lady keep you!"
This Wolf is at a loss as to why his posts are confusing. So far, he has posted concerning the scientific evidence the Earth was created some six millennia ago and he quoted St Paul word for word concerning chapel veils. Now, St Peter did say parts of St Paul are confusing, but this Wolf did not consider what he said concerning women having their heads covered to be in that category.
But he did fire off the following reply to Laura Vander Vos:
"Your Email is certainly interesting, although it suffers from a lack of ontology. You say that the members have "recognized the tendency in Traditionalism to subjectivize, relativize and Protestantize their Catholic faith". That is a somewhat strange statement, seeing that many of the changes since Vatican II, such as Communion in the Hand, Communion under both species, Lay Lectors, Women in the Sanctuary- to name but a few- were introduced by Protestants in Germany and England in the 16th and 17th centuries.
"Meanwhile, to quote Fernando Ocariz over at EWTN: 'The Second Vatican Council, in N 8 of the Dogmatic Constitution Lumen Gentium, stated that "this Church, constituted and organized as a society in this present, world, subsists in (subsistit in) the Catholic Church, governed by the Successor of Peter and by the Bishops in communion with him, although (licet) many elements of sanctification and truth can be found outside her structure; such elements, as gifts properly belonging to the Church of Christ, impel towards Catholic unity'" If Vatican II is right here, do not Traditional Catholics have these elements which 'impel towards Catholic unity'?
"The True Church is certainly guided by the Holy Ghost. But the Holy Ghost does not guarantee that a pope cannot err or, worse, actually work against the interests of God. If such were the case, we would never be suborned to pray for the Pope, apart from the 'Intentions of the Holy Father' which are the Intentions of the Chair of Peter, the Holy Seat, which are for peace and communion among the bishops, success of Missionary Activity, and freedom from persecution by worldly princes, among other things. Many popes in the past have said that were the Pope to manifestly lose the faith, he must be resisted and if necessary condemned. Due to the extent of the present apostasy, it is tragic that a significant group of bishops has not consistently resisted the Vatican Apparatus, beginning with the Pontificate of John XXIII. (There are aspects of the pontificates of Pius VI, Pius VII, Gregory XVI, Pius IX, Pius X, and Pius XII that should have been resisted, but that is beyond the scope of my argument here.)
"Were the present occupant of the Chair of Peter, Francis, to renounce his numerous and manifest errors, recite the Profession of Faith of the Council of Trent, and condemn the errors propagated since 1960, I would gladly accept him as true pope. And in the meantime, were "Pope Francis" to do something unquestionably Catholic- I am not holding my breath! - such as insist all the faithful return to the Traditional Fast on Fridays, I would gladly oblige, even under the present circumstances.
You see, despite my opinions, I have no desire to cause scandal or disobedient. But meanwhile nowhere in Sacred Tradition does it say we check right reason at the door and just accept anything coming from any authority- even the pope himself.
"You say my 'posts and comments are confusing to other site members'. Why? If I state obvious errors, correction should be elementary. You say my posts 'do not reflect adherence to the ongoing Magisterium of the Church'. In what way? No Pope since Pius XII has made a definitive dogmatic declaration. (And alas, instead of solemnizing the Assumption, as if there was any widespread contention among Catholics concerning that doctrine, if only he would declared Our Lady Co-Redemptrix and Mediatrix of all Graces, by virtue of her Fiat, her Mediation at the Foot of the Cross, and her prayers in the cenacle which wooed the Holy Ghost from heaven... for many priests do not believe these doctrines, and separate themselves from Holy Mother Church- perhaps not canonically, but canon law is not infallible, nor even a safe guide, otherwise we would not need canon lawyers... but I digress.) The opinions even of popes have always been open to question.
"I, to, am 'seeking to live as fully faithful Catholics in the Church under Pope Francis and his successors'. In fact that is exactly why I anathematize Pope Francis. Or, to be more accurate, it is the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, in the Dogmatic Decrees of the Council of Trent, especially, that anathematizes Pope Francis, and Paul VI, for that matter.
Just consider that Paul VI suppressed the Minor orders, and Major Order of Subdeacon, in his seminaries. But that Council of Trent declares: 'If anyone says that besides the priesthood there are not in the Catholic Church other orders, both major and minor, by which, as by certain steps, advance is made to the priesthood, let him be anathema.'
"Yes, it is not easy being one of those "prophets of gloom and doom" condemned by Good Pope John. But I will endeavour to be one of those Apostles of Our Lady spoken of by St Louis Marie de Monfort. In the meantime, be advised that the "Crisis in the Church" is going to get several orders of magnitude worse in the coming years, and this much more sooner than later. I fear the patience of God, humanly speaking, wears thin, and He will smite the Vatican and its brood of vipers. One find day you might awaken and realize we are all "sedevacantists" now.
"Meanwhile, when the Internet disappears, the lights go out, and the pumps stop...
"Just remember that you will always have the Most Holy Rosary, and it will never be too late to have recourse to the Sacred Heart through the Immaculate Heart.
sincerely, Michael."
While Traditional Catholic organizations certainly have their problems, which this Wolf is never going to minimize or gloss over, one should not conflate the failings of men with the purity of doctrine of the "Pre-Vatican II Church". Obviously, the "mainstream church" is "whacked". That is an observation, not an opinion. The solution is to adhere to the Deposit of Faith, "once for all delivered to the Saints". So while Tradrecovery.com keeps adjusting to the ever increasing monstrosities of Pope Frantic and the Seat of the Antichrist, and apparently has its collective head in the sand, and frets over being "canonically regular"- whatever exactly that means- this Wolf will placidly remain in the cenacle of Our Lady.
The Lord knows your faith. Truly, God is closer to you than your own jugular vein. Didn't Jesus Christ wisely tell his friends to go pray in a closet? The apparatus of the Church runs like a corporation, with the heretic Frantic as its CEO. When I look around me and see the Alphabet Mafia 's flag of conquest waving over the churches in my city, I know they have been infiltrated, subverted, and conquered. The path is narrow and growing ever more narrow. Take heart and thank God that He has given you the gift of discernment, although it is a lonely place to be.
