The Foot of the Cross is where Time and Eternity Kiss. The Foot of the Cross is our Destiny. We will either willingly go there, having Christian contempt for the Spirit of the World, the Spirit of Frivolity and Indulgence, or we will ultimately be dragged there, kicking and screaming, against our will. But one day we shall be confronted with Eternity. As the Masthead at Zero Hedge says: "On a Long Enough Timeline, the Chances of Survival is Zero." For the Beginner, the Foot of the Cross is daunting and repulsive. Here one sees suffering and anguish, and no joy. But that is just the surface.
When Our Lady of Fatima appeared to St Sr Lucia at the 11th hour in the darkened gloom of the Chapel that night of June 13th, 1929, the saint beheld Our Lord nailed to the Cross, Our Lady holding Her Heart at His Right, the Dove of the Holy Ghost Surmounted by the Face and Chest of God the Father above, and from the wound in his Left Hand, two torrents of water flowed over the top of the Altar, the words "Grace" and "Mercy" embedded within them.
In this world, the Foot of the Cross is our Paradise. The Cross is the new Tree of Life, and the Foot of the Cross is the New Eden, populated by Our Lord, the New Adam, and Our Lady, the New Eve. From their union, His Redemption and her Co-Redemtion, is born all the Children of Holy Mother Church. And those of the Flock who do not wander from the Foot of the Cross are assured of their Salvation.
Every time we attend the Traditional Latin Mass- not its abominable facsimile, the "Novus Ordo"- we are at the Foot of the Cross. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass brings the Foot of the Cross to all Times and all Places. If Immanuel Kant is right and the only two a priori physical things are Time and Space, then the Foot of the Cross entirely fills these two dimensions. (In a certain sense Kant is a refreshing return to Platonic Metaphysics and an escape from the stuffy Materialism of Aristotle and the Scholastics- without, however, sacrificing ontology, which Kant is in danger of doing with his "noumea") And so the Fruits of the Tree of Life, which is nothing less than Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself in Holy Communion, are accessible to all.
But what if the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is taken from us? How shall we get to the Foot of the Cross? Well, Our Lady gave the Solution to St Dominic. "One day," she said in the hearing of St Francis of Assisi, "Through the Rosary and the Scapular, I will save the world." St Sr Lucia echoed this idea when she told Fr Augustine Fuentes in that epochal interview of Dec 26th, 1957: "As for the Holy Rosary, Father, in these last times in which we are living, the Blessed Virgin has given a new efficacy to the praying of the Holy Rosary. This in such a way that there is no problem that cannot be resolved by praying the Rosary, no matter how difficult it is - be it temporal or above all spiritual - in the spiritual life of each of us or the lives of our families, be they our families in the world or Religious Communities, or even in the lives of peoples and nations. I repeat, there is no problem, as difficult as it may be, that we cannot resolve at this time by praying the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary we will save ourselves, sanctify ourselves, console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls." So fear not if you lose the Mass, priests, Confession, and Blessings. Recite the Perfect Act of Contrition, Make Spiritual Communions, and persevere in reciting the Most Holy Rosary, and all will be well!
Moreover, devotion to Our Lady of Sorrows is a Sign of Predestination. How few Priests talk about Our Lady of Sorrows. They might mention her in passing on her feast days, but the rest of the year they remain silent. Does one remain silent about the one one loves? When a man loves a woman, does he seldom contemplate her? The silence of priests and bishops betrays their lack of love and devotion. Their silence betrays their occupation with many useless and vapid projects and concerns.
What is left of the tottering structures of the Institutional Church is about to be swept away. And then the revelation of how deeply embedded the fangs of the vipers are in the "Traditional Latin Mass Communities" will become abundantly clear. These organizations are overrun with the perverse, and soon these corrupt priests will scatter to the Four WInds, leaving their sheep bewildered and confused. Take shelter at the Foot of the Cross in the Arms of Your Mother. And go with Her to the Cenacle, and Stay with her during the Holy Saturday of the three and a half years of the Antichrist when the Church will be apparently dead. Be not like the unbelieving Apostles but recall the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ: "But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is at hand."
The Triumph of the Immaculate Heart will be more glorious than we can possibly imagine.
