Don't Forget The Woman Weeping At The Foot Of The Cross...
When You Go To Midnight Mass Tonight
The Sorrows of Our Lady are always in season. And those sorrows are entirely supernatural. No, as one Uneducated Catholic put it, Our Lady was not sad because she did not know if Christ was going to rise from the dead- more on this shortly. Our Lady was not weeping because her Son was suffering. (Indeed, many of the Saints have said that had not the Romans nor the Jews nailed Him to the Holy Rood, she would have done so herself.) Nor was Our Lady worried about what the future might hold for her, or whether she would end homeless.
No, the tears of Our Lady are because she understood the immensity and gravity of each sin, even the little sins we hardly think are sins, like a sarcastic word, or idle gossip, or tardiness, or lack of promptness in aiding our neighbor. but even these sins will be atoned for with weeks, months, and perhaps decades in the fires of Purgatory. Even many Traditional Catholic priests are ignoramuses, spending time in idle entertainments and blabbing away on the phone, when they should be spending time with our Lord and Our lady.
At the Foot of the Cross, Our Lady pleads for each one of us. She offers her infinite sufferings for each sin we commit. She is advocating that the Sufferings of Our Lord not be in vain for our soul. And each time we sin, we strike her. And each time we commit, alas, a mortal sin, we plunge a sword into her heart. (The vast majority of Catholics, let alone Protestants, are utterly oblivious to this dimension of the Divine Economy.)
The Sorrows of Our Lady have a correspondence to the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and are ultimately a mystery. Even when we are contemplating the Beatific Vision, we will scarcely understand these wounds of Our Lady, inflicted by the Sword Prophesied by Holy Simeon at the Presentation in the Temple forty days after the Nativity, which, in a certain sense, are eternal, just as the Passion of Our Lord is eternal.
"Who is She that cometh forth as the Morning Rising, Fair as the Moon, Bright as the Sun, Terrible as an Army set in Battle Array?" Our Lady is the Mother of God, Mediatrix of All Grace, and Co-Redemptrix, by virtue of her fiat, her station at the Cross, and her prayers in the Cenacle wooing the Holy Ghost to Earth. About Our Lady, as the Fathers and Doctors have said, we can never say enough. Were we to see her glory, we would worship her as God Himself.
This Wolf weeps because ignorance of Our Lady is so widespread. Just today, this Wolf was listening to a video by Dr Deep State. At the 52 minute mark the wheels utterly fall off: "I was doing my rosary. I just shared the vision of what our Blessed Mother must have been doing when her Son was hanging on the cross. She knew from the visitation that something special was happening..." You don't say? Here are the words of the Angel Gabriel: "Behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and shalt bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob forever. And of his kingdom there shall be no end." Here are the words Our lady uttered at the beginning of her Magnificat: "My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me; and holy is his name." Know any Saint in history that was proud of his humility?
Dr Haugen continues: "She conceived from the Holy Spirit; she knew that something very significant was going on but she didn't know at that moment- just like the devil- if he going to rise from the dead. She didn't know and that's where we're at with the crisis of the church; it's like the boat on the water and the disciples losing their cool and the crisis in the church right now only vindicates and verifies that this is the true church this is The Passion of the church..."
Here is an excerpt from the Gospel of St Luke for Quinquegesima Sunday: "Then Jesus took unto him the twelve, and said to them: Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be accomplished which were written by the prophets concerning the Son of man. For he shall be delivered to the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and scourged, and spit upon: And after they have scourged him, they will put him to death; and the third day he shall rise again."
Here is an excerpt from the Gospel of St Mark: "At length he appeared to the eleven as they were at table: and he upbraided them with their incredulity and hardness of heart, because they did not believe them who had seen him after he was risen again." St Mark is being very kind to the Twelve here. They, and surely Our Lady, had all the details before the passion concerning His Resurrection.
And neither of the other two in the discussion corrected him, nor did any of the 1590 people that viewed the video.
Is The Traditional Catholic World really this full of Dumbasses?
Hey Wolf, I was aware of you from reading your opinions of the brilliant essays by Don Jeffries. I often comment myself. I came across this piece you wrote on the Substack and it was quite interesting. Do you write from an SSPX perspective or from a different traditionalist viewpoint?
Thanks
I watched the same video (skimmed through it) and when he said that I was flabbergasted. How could he utter such nonsense…I’m thinking to myself, maybe he didn’t realize what he just said.
I was going to leave a comment but at that point pretty much checked out of the video.
